The Dogwoods

by Bryan Thomas Daly

In terms of pure beauty,

it’s best to not compare yourself

to the row of dogwoods

flowering outside the Family Dollar. All at once they’re there,

tender and overladen, saying,

look, look at how much of us there is to die.
